Tractive Suspension

How does the active suspension work on 7.1 GT3's? Is it via the PASM button?

You switch between standard and sport modes with a button on the dash, just left and forward of the gearstick.

The dampers, in either mode, are theoretically 'active' in being able to electronically adjust. Not sure what parameters they use for this, but it's not got same G-sensing as 997.2 which is why you need to add a g-meter for either Tractive and/or DSC controller.

Waiting for mine from 9e is unbearable can't wait to try Tractive 8)

It is worth the wait and I drove it yesterday to SESC at Torque Moto and even on the bumpy twisty lanes it was superb. The DSC was a great upgrade and I am looking forward to some warm dry tarmac......

Hi James
Good to see you here ... putting 2&2 together .... Your JamesGT3 from Instagram  We spoke at Torque. Possibly the dirtiest set of cars ever :floor:

We have been doing one install a week for the last few months and now really getting a lot of road time in setting Tractive up either via the DSC or via the Tractive control unit.

To give you some idea of the last couple of months

- 996 GT3 x 2
- 964 x 1
- 993 RS x 1
- 991.2 Turbo S x 1
- 991.1 GT3
- 997 Turbo x 2
- 996 Turbo x 1

We currently have

- 964
- 991.2 Carrera T
- 997.2 GT3RS 4.0L.
- 996.2 GT3

I think Tractive is actively becoming the go to solution now. The difference we are seeing and our customers are seeing is night and day over other market solutions.

The pre PASM cars, which take longer to install since you have to run the wiring etc now have something on the market that is very good as an alternative to the traditional go to options.

Would not be surprised to see Tractive leading the market this year in Suspension choice.

Ken - have you ever married a DSC controller to any Bilstein Damptronic stuff?

I'm wondering how such a setup using Bilstein components would compare to a Tractive/Eibach setup :?:

Yes I have with b16 damptronics, but the Tractive valving is much superior and also there is a much wider range of dampening that can be accessed by the DSC on Tractive damper.

Add to the fact that B16 damptronics are always on back order generally as well.

The thing with Tractive is the ability to run a softer spring rate through the wider range of dampening that gives you the best of both worlds.

You're still running 997.1 GT3 RS spring rates on my 997 turbo with this new Tractive Touring set up Ken? Surely its much firmer than my old lowering spring and DSC set up? When am I getting her back :D

Yours are custom 40/110 springs

It feels great compared to how it was before

Because we can run 0.2amps full soft via dsc together with the dampening it can in full soft mode be softer / stock pasm or dsc setting is 0.4 amps - same as full hard setting stock is 1.4 amps generally on pasm where as we can run almost 2 amps

I'll chase Andy at Special ops again

Sounds like Tractive is exactly what i am looking for as my H&R lowering springs were a little on soft side for me. Ride height stock is comical although drives far more comfy on stock springs than lowering springs on UK roads

This is with lowering springs and DSC again via 9e when I carried out first round of mods. Looks at the difference.

Cheers 8)

Tractive install. Lots of GT2 bits added too (basically everything ) and brake refurb via 9e. Before and after pics. The way this thing goes especially on race fuel unbelievable.

Received a quote a moment ago from Porsche Special Ops Reading for colour change to PTS and its defo happening 8)

Re Tractive the ride height is up to you. I asked for the ride height to be raised a little as she was sitting too low for dd. Doesn't look much lower though!
