Market value or agreed value on insurance?

Insurance renewal is due shortly, and I've had my renewal docs from Classic line. In the past, I've used their agreed value form, and need to fill out another and send some more photos. Or.... with values being generally high (in adverts if not achieved)..... is market value ok? With agreed value, a move in the market (either direction) can make the figure incorrect.
What do others do?

And what value you reckon.... 1997 R reg; C4; ocean blue/savannah factory big ovals; white dials; 18" hollows; air con manual. Great history and I've had it 17 years :)

Thank you.

Having just seen the the Porsch auction results recently at Silverstone, all but 2 failed to reach the lower end of their estimates. I'd be trying to replicate last year's valuation as it would worth more then than it is now.

I would stick with your agreed value, then if the worst comes to the worst, there will be no arguments on the value, whereas I suspect on a market value policy you would be exposed to which ever way the market might go and that seems unlikely to be upward any time soon.... :?:

Also if you drive abroad do check that your cover does not drop CONSIDERABLY while there.

Good luck in your choices.

With all the economic uncertainty ahead (and dark clouds on horizon), I'd stick with agreed value assuming you are happy with it.

There is only one way to remove uncertainty. Go for an agreed valuation. Can't help you with an actual value - a specialist will inspect the car, you will submit photos and the specialist will give the valuation based on his inspection.
