Interior upgrade on the cheap

There's a reason those door cards are carpeted at the bottom. I'm sure it'll soon come apparent to 911munky after a while.

Spill the beans please Alex.
I was thinking of ditching the carpet on my door cards too.

Because it'll get mucked up in no time. You can get away with dirty marks on a dark or sandy carpet buy I doubt you'd get away with it on Alcantara.

I like the belts/wheel, the gear knob is abit different 👌

The door cards look good, but like Alex points out they may not last that long!? Nice to tie in the small touches of blue

Not struck on the seats, abit IKEA?! Think you would struggle to sell car with them like that, I like modifications that can be removed then its upto the new owner I guess 👍

Love the gear knob. I'd have gone with black alcantara for a contrast but if you like the grey, celebrate it.
I like what you've tried to do with the seats (Ferrari style eyelets) but I'm afraid I don't like the result. Dare I say it I think you need more eyelets and lose the blue contrast. Something more like this. I also think somehow it might work better with sport seats, but then basically I don't like the standard seats. Either way it's your car and good on you for trying something different.

The seats are certainly not too my taste, but the rest of the changes look great! Where you get the new seat belts from?

A lower console delete (GT3 style) would look great on there

I'm not comparing my car to a Singer or the execution of my seat experiment but pics like these were the inspiration! I wanted to try something different for minimal cost as I was either going to replace or get them reupholstered anyway.

Photek - I'm on the lookout for a cheap Centre console delete, they are much more expensive these days and no longer do them in grey so I would need to retrim, I thought about Alcantara but Alex might disagree! :D
I reckon the door cards will be ok but time will tell, if they don't last or become dirty and unable to clean I will report back, the material seems tough and is Fire retardant. The carpet never got dirty or needed a clean though.

Seat belts available in loads of colours and cost £132 inc P&P
KolourKoncept.co.uk.

Grifter - Cheers, I wanted the door card lowers + rear quarters to match the Alcantara head lining and steering wheel , it is actually darker than it looks due to the flash in the pics.

Wooden gear knob - yeah I know it might seem out of place but the old gear knob had worn leather and lost the paint on the top so again I thought I'd try something different with a retro twist. It feels great in the hand, doesn't get cold/hot to touch like an aluminium ball in Winter/Summer and the longer shaft really works with Alex's SSK and the additional slider bit, very little play now.

And now to the eyelets! I still like them but maybe a very dark grey/black back ground underneath would have been more subtle and for £10 and a days work I could change the colour. I was considering these Pepita options or maybe a dark grey tartan with a blue hint for the interior panels (I was also thinking dark Alcantara but I reckon that wouldn't last long) so I didn't mind chopping them up as I can still make the change. The standard seats are nothing special are they are just too grey! 997 dark grey seats are also an option but I couldn't find any in good condition at a reasonable price.

Kudos for having the balls to try something different. Ultimately if you like it, then it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.

Personally I'm not a fan of the rings. I think they work really well in some vintage cars (eg gt40), but not keen on them in a Porsche.

As you've gone for a bit of a retro look with the shifter, the pepita might complement that. If you're going to have them retrimmed, I'd suggest you consider a different stitching pattern for the centre sections.

If you look at the 997 seats, they have a curved stitched pattern which is reminiscent of the older cars. You might want to consider something similar.

Alternatively something like the 3 colour panel design from the 964RS or one of the fabrics below might work well with a grey interior:

failing that perhaps I could tempt you with some black ruffled leather items I've listed in the for sale section

Maybe make the three holes into a row of five and add a top row to the rear seats might work a bit better?
