Thank you for your input so far. I like to think I'm in a strong position, I have the law very firmly on my side with the Consumer Rights Act 2015. I am entitled to a 100% refund within the first 30 days and I shall happily request this but, I could get a car with rebuilt engine and that would put my mind at ease over the next few years.
The (after market) warranty is in my name and if I do walk away this will put the financial burden on the dealer; I imagine he is well aware of this. If the warranty company doesn't want to foot the bill for a whole engine rebuild then the dealer may want to make a contribution to ensure I am happy and accept the car with the Hartech rebuild I want.
If I go elsewhere, I could be buying a car with a problem around the corner and it does appear that I'm not very good at picking Porsches!
I will wait and see what the dealer says on Monday and then share the news!
