As many of us have probably come across, whilst sorting out my sills a few of the studs that hold the various plastic undertrays and covers on snapped off so I thought I'd do a post on how I fixed them using rivnuts.
that blob in the middle used to be a stud like the one below
I ground the remaining bit flush with the body, I then drilled a 9mm hole where the stud used to be.
I then got one of these useful bits, a rivnut (the one pictured is an m8 I used m6 ones for this job)
this is the rivnut fixing tool, it's not too different to a normal rivet gun
fitted in place
as you can see you can now use a m6 bolt to hold the undertray in place.
hopefully this will be useful to somebody
