The original built for CEO of TAG. Just nuts and far less vulgar than most of the modern hypercars and supercars on sale today inc from Porsche's own catalogue IMO.

That looks utterly incongruous, but no doubt looked slightly less so back in the 80's when the likes of Strosek, Konigg and Gemballa were all engaged in producing monstrosities for those with more money than taste.
Of course you didn't
have to flaunt your wealth in the crass, tasteless manner many did, as there was an alternative which was far more subtle :

Of course Ruf's recipe was (and still is) more about go than show, and to such an extent it's been suggested that Alois under-quoted the Yellow Bird's power output by some 50hp, all of which makes the Mansour Ojjeh widebody excess with a mere 380hp at its disposal, look like a sheep in wolf's clothing.
A bit like Singer's "Classic" reimagined cars, you could drive and park a Ruf 3.4 CTR anywhere and no one would give it a second look, let alone realise it was faster than a Countach, F40 etc. A true iron fist in a silk glove for the connoisseur, rather than the "fur coat no knickers" tarts boudoir on wheels Porsche built for Mansour Ojjeh.
