Multi year annoying oil leak finally fixed.

Hi

Just to close this thread off (I sincerely hope) the car continued to leak oil, and whats more it got increasingly worse, although the top of the engine remains dry.

I decided to have another investigation, and it appears that at least one oil return tube is leaking. It was such a mistake not replacing them when I rebuilt the top end of the engine. I knew they looked a bit wet, but never any dripping, and I had assumed the oil was hitting them from above.

So today I replaced all 4 with collapsible steel ones. Its a fairly fiddly job to get the ones that run directly under the heat exchanger elbows. The car needed an oil and filter change so it was a good opportunity to do complete that job also.

Hopefully that is the end of the major oil leak, and I can live with any very minor ones.

Next is the always on airbag light, and then an MOT and she will be back on the road.

All the best

Berni
