Does the 997.2

I don't think anyone's dissing 997.1 s?

Not on this thread, but exaggeration and lack of fact based comment can happen. It's the subtle and sanctimonious that gets me, most of the time it's water off a duck's back, depends on the time of the month

Get the worrying thing, I'm the same, although strangely not with the car, at the moment mine has two warranties on it

I really really like my car, but having read all this I think I am due an upgrade..

Fuel consumption, LEDs, PDK with paddle shifts, Bluetooth and no more worries about potential engine failure, are swaying me.

I think I just need to wait a couple of years for prices to come down a bit more, and not hear the word "borescoring" in the mean time.

I've already found my ideal one on Pistonheads, but its 50k :nooo:

Go and see Mark you know you want to, low miles all the extras yummy  Borescoring nah, all sorted and something like 40% fewer moving parts in the engine?

haha, not hearing the word Borescoring ain't gonna happen :nooo: just have to live with that or stay off the interweb I think.

A 977.2 with PDK/paddles, PSE, sports seats/chrono, light colour with black wheels calls out to me, but succumbing now would be an enormous waste of money and I'm very happy with my car in every way. However, in 2-3 years of years time, all being well, it will be a different story and the new quandary might be the 991 :thumb:

Love those cars you've seen, reckon you'll be in the market if you carry on like that!

I haven't been around here for a while, very busy time at work, but hey oh, it paid for me to swap my 997.1 C2 for a 997.2 C2S last month.

I dithered and dithered (the 997.1 was my first 911 and I just fell in love with it) and was really worried about leaving it behind. New one is a PDK with paddle shifters. I bought it for the colour combo and the paddle shifters, and immediately started worrying about missing the manual.

I do miss the manual.

But I LOVE the PDK box. The shifts are amazingly quick and punchy, and I'm in control of when they happen, unless I'm feeling lazy. The paddles feel great. Most of all though, I just seem to have so much more headspace to think about positioning in the road, turning in, hitting the apex and powering out. I really like not having to lift my hands from the wheel.

Anyway, nice to be back, I'm sure I'll pop up a bit more often for a while because I'm about to have some extended leave for an op. In the meantime, here's my new car and old car together.

Not bad compensation for all those long hours eh? The C2 is looking good, but reckon you'll get over swapping it for your 997.2 quite quickly, what with an extra 60hp as well as the PDK! black wheels looking very cool 8)

Thanks :)

You're absolutely right. I fired up the C2 today, and much as I love it, went out in the 997.2 (who is called Trotski on account of his clearly socialist tendencies). It is amazing :thumb:

About £2k for PDK option, from memory.

All the above 'for' a Gen 2.... Loving mine!

Went out for a blast today..... Sports Chrono, Paddles and PSE.... Brilliant!

I drove both manual and PDK cars when looking for my GTS.

The PDK is great, it's quick and precise. But I felt that it's impossible to beat the sense of involvement from the manual box, even if you're going 0.2s slower to 60.
