Rattles

Wondering if anyone has the same rattles as me.

I've got a buzzing on the driver's door, it's right behind my ear and sounds like it coming from the top right of the door

The other one is the back, rear passenger interior card, which seems to be in the middle. I can apply pressure and it goes to this one

Has anyone had success fixing these?

Had loads of Porsches, but this 992 has the most rattles of any I've owned

a known issue on the 992
which can be a few issues including loose speakers

dealer success has been mixed

alternatively take it to an independent audio specialist to dynamat the doors, solves the problem with better noise insulation

or diy time
There are two torx bolts, one under the rubber strip behind the door handle and one under the end cap just below the window.
Remove these, then unclip the small plastic trim piece that houses the alarm LED - just gently pull it. Leave it hanging on its wire.
Now lift the door panel upwards. When it releases, rest it on the bottom clips and undo the two plugs and the door release cable.
find the rattle
The refitting method will be obvious - just push the door trim against the door as you push it back down into the retainers (another aspect the fitters will get wrong - they'll cause the panel to miss one of the retainers), then line up the rubber seal for the window.
Redo the bolts and LED trim and enjoy the silence
.

I have different rattles that come and go based on temperature outside and what time of day/month -main culprit is sunroof.
I have never owned a 911 that didnt rattle

I’ve cured the sunroof squeaking with this, it works great

I also removed the rear speaker grill, cleaned it and the mounting area and used the below

That’s my next job, thanks

Aha! Bought a tube and solved my rattles…Targa roof and rear glass all benefit from this

I still have an annoying rattle / buzz on my 992 and after watching 700 hours of YouTube content I’m considering getting some additional sound proofing installed behind the door panels, a few owners on rennlist have gone down this route and it seems to sort this common issue out.

Anyone on here tried this?

Is this stereo rattles or just vibration from driving
I plan sound deaden the door cards because the radio rattles the door card when they any wiff of base

I think it’s a bit of both, I’m going to pop into a place local to me who does it so I’ll let you know the result sometime soon

Found two rattles/buzzing bits on my 992, passenger door - the lock/unlock buttons rattle, as does the plastic plate just next to them. So for the moment I stuck some carefully cut black electrical tape on the edges - takes the resonance right out.
Also opened glovebox, and the top side of it at the very front - this plastic also resonates - again a strip of tape and problem solved.
cheers

So, after much deliberation, research and attempting to resolve the annoying buzzes and rattle myself without success I decided to bite the bullet and hand the car over to a professional to sort.
Initially I just wanted them to eliminate the rattles but after watching a few YouTube videos we agreed to also add some additional sound deadening as well - I say additional, it actually turned out that there was virtually zero sound deadening in the car and what there was wasn’t even stuck on properly!
Anyway, Bassmechanix in cramlington have done a superb job and my car is now rattle free, feels absolutely solid and there has been a marked reduction in tyre roar - don’t get me wrong it’s no Rolls Royce and the engine noise still comes through into the cabin in all its glory but I can now hear my music clearly and can also take a call if needed.
Now, I know this sort of goes against the whole Porsche lightweight ethos, but the rattles were doing my head in and the 992 is not exactly a lightweight, plus I now have a car that feels as it should have when it left the factory.
I’ve attached a few photos for those who are interested.IMG_1726.jpegIMG_1724.jpegIMG_1725.jpegIMG_1720.jpegIMG_1721.jpeg

@Longp2 nicely done and as you have right pointed out, no sound insulation and not even fitted correctly
Having done the same on an older 911, whilst it may be a few dB difference the real world difference is night and day !

what material did they use ? and are you able to share the time and ball park cost to do this ?

They had the car for 3 days and used skinz material, cost was £1300. I was given several options before I committed, for example for the doors only the cost would be around £700.
Monty, the owner did comment on how well put together the car was compared to a few of the 991s that he’d had in, which I found amusing as it flies in the face of the general concencous that Porsche build quality has dropped through the generations!

Says the man who’s just spent over a grand to have the interior ripped out to fix a few rattles😂
