help with odd trunk trim alignment

Would like some advice and ideally pictures from 993ers

I noticed there was a huge bulge in the trunk trim piece when closing it, to the extent was difficult to close so investigated further..

I noticed the center part of the trim behind the trunk liner was sticking out massive.. it seemed the part supporting it was mounted to the wrong thread from the body (the one to the center beam that stuick out a lot). So i attempted to mount it to a nearer thread that sticks out less.

however the result is that the support trim doesn't lie flush to the chassis thread, nor the trim thread - very odd. The goodpart is at least the trim doesn't stick out so it does look better.. but i am still keen to find out what is the 'correct' fitment as now it isn't correct!

Cheers
