Thought I would share this little hack with everyone.last year I had had a flat battery the key would not open the drivers door the remote would not work and I couldn't get in, there's nowhere in the engine to put jump leads the only option was to pull the emergency release wire in the front wheel arch I couldn't take the wheel off because the locking wheel nut was in the front so if you have ever tried to remove the inner mud splash liner with the wheel still on you will know what a job that is.eventually I'm in when you look at the way the emergency wire pulls on the latch release you think was this designed like it or just an after thought pretty poor engineering so I thought I can do better in case it happens again.
I bought a bicycle brake cable from Halfords £7.50 and fit it to the latch release if you look there is a place for a cable release already to be used I routed the cable through the front wing and secured it with tie raps behind the indicator repeater works perfectly pop out the repeater with a small screwdriver pull out the brake cable and your in
I'll try to upload photos
