I need to sort out power sometime this summer (another thing to add to the list lol)

Nice one Roro, thats a cracking shed, how are you neighbours feeling about it? 8)

PCM delete = coolest mod ever.

All good, would suggest anyone doing this throws in a planning application to avoid any issues like I did :thumb:

PCM delete doesn't actually look that difficult, had a look at some YouTube vids yesterday, might try and do this today if I can

Looks great...so that's room enough for two Porsches !

Did you put any ducting in for power to come through?

Job jobbed... Very easy to do, maybe 30/45mins. I'll resist the temptation to throw the PCM off the nearest cliff and pack it away safely in case I decide to reinstall at some point

I taped all the connectors down inside to stop anything rattling around. Also the shelf seems held in place just by the side trim which surprised me, but it weighs next to nothing so shouldn't come loose

Overall I'm loving not having that horrible outdated unit there and the benefits of having all that space

Potential future work will probably involve having the silver / grey heater controls painted black to match the shelf. But if I do that then I'll need to do the heater vents, cup holder trim etc... Not a priority

Looks great. Actually modernises the cabin a bit! Need to figure out a Bluetooth front end for the rest of the audio, can't be that hard to do.

Something like this but better if you know what I mean.

I reckon it's a big improvement looks wise too :thumb:

Yes I like the idea of that Bluetooth thingy. Couple of issues I'd need to resolve

- where in the amp to plug it in! Haven't researched anything on these amps yet so no idea what connections they have
- how to power the device

There's space behind the shelf so should be able to conceal a small Bluetooth device behind it. Assuming Bluetooth reception would be OK from behind the plastic shelf though

@ Nick W - I shall refrain from saying the obvious LOL
(Also I'm trying not to think about a second Porsche !!) :floor:

@ Kingston - yep everything is in place just need a sparky to sort it all when I get around to it

@ Apollo cheers I'm quite pleased with my handywork

hh

Yeah, I suppose I am a secret red knob admirer....kind of reminds me of the
2RS. Now that's a car I'd love to own.

Make sure you bury the cable atleast 400mm below ground andideally duct it

Cheers Kingston

Re the pcm delete, it's quite liberating not having a satnav. The car feels more purposeful without all that stuff interfering with the drive. I'd completely forgotten what driving a car without any ICE was like! So far so good... I suppose this is a bit more like what an old 70's 911 RS would have been like

Surely the Garage shots were off topic and should have been put under a Garage Build thread :bandit:

Roro, as a Styles Mod, I must protest at your Riviera Blue bonnet avatar and a red interior, tut tut, standards dear boy

Nice to see you "active" again :thumb:

Blimey, who rattled your non-GT3 cage?

... Who's a Styles Mod? Not me :D

Big milestone today! I've had this car for 5 years. I'm speechless ... Years ago I never thought I'd ever be able to buy a 911 let alone keep one for 5 years. It still excites, still surprises (in good ways!), still makes me feel great when I get behind the wheel. I've been guilty of not driving it enough the last year or so though, other priorities and all that. Hopefully Year 6 will see me putting on more miles and getting back on track!
