Advice on selling my manual turbo please

Advise please. After 5 fantastic years I've decided to move on and I'm going to sell my beloved 997.1 turbo manual. Where & how would you recommend it's advertised?

It's no garage queen, I've covered 30000 amazing fun miles in the last 5 years and it now has 80k on the clock. It was breathed on by 9e 2 years ago and goes like stink. It's been maintained regardless of cost by Dove House. It's incredibly high spec costing £122k new and I've added the re-map, suspension module, lowering springs, europipe exhaust, ceramic coating & PPF, spare set of wheels with winter tyres (pilot sport cup 2's fitted to car.

TIA

Wow that is lovely and at a mileage that you wouldn't be afraid to use it.

I'd be tempted to put on Collecting Cars - that built 996 turbo made 49,950. This is a far better buy for 9/10 people if they want a spicy turbo.

Or SOR with 9e :thumb:

Just to say if anyone looking for a turbo this is the type of car to buy. One thats been used you will have no issues over it like you will with a low mileage garage queen. Looks like mine in term of condition . Even better actually.

Cracking car. Try to sell to an enthusiast if you can. I had a 997.2 turbo that had also been relatively lightly tuned by 9e. Any dealer will quickly tell you that prospective buyers like them standard. Which is true to a point but doesn't include everyone. I, for example would happily buy a tastefully modded car. But by tuning your 911, you have narrowed your market.

Anyhow, looks a bang tidy motor. GLWS

Lovely car, very jealous of your garage :)
Good luck with the sale!

To get a good idea of value, as others have suggested, I'd speak to Ken at 9e.

You could advertise it privately or put it on 'Collecting Cars' but imo the best price may be achieved if you Sale or Return it using 9e or 911Virgin.

If Dove House know the car would they be interested? I don't know if they do SoR or deal in modified cars.

As I have a 997.1T with 79k miles it will be interesting to hear your results to see how they compare with my bog-standard Tiptronic.

Good Luck

EDIT: Coincidentally I've also done 30k miles in my car so would be interested to hear what you're thinking of moving on to.

Thanks for the info guys. I've never heard of 'collecting cars" so I'll have a look at that. Also I'll get in touch with Dove House to see about the SOR option. The car has only been to 9e once and they are 3hrs away from me so probably won't pursue that option.

With regard to value I paid £46k for it 5 years ago and if I can get somewhere near that back for it now I'd be well chuffed. I've probably spent £3k-£4K per year on maintenance and upgrades but that seems pretty insignificant to run a Supercar, especially when I consider how much fun I've had in it.

Not sure what I'll move onto next. I've had a lot of different weekend cars the last 20 years (lotus, M cars , RS cars, GTR, etc) and never kept one longer that 2 years until now. To be honest the turbo is so good I never thought I would change it but i think I'm done with this type of car. I get more fun now out of chucking my MTB in the back of my 535d touring and going to play in the woods for the day🤷"â™‚️I'll be sad to see it go but it's time to move on and let someone else enjoy it.

I think I remember this car being up for sale as the colour combo with yellow stitching and PCCB's and being around £46k stick in my mind. What a buy that was!! :thumb:

I bought it from 911 Sport in Horncastle, I kept a copy of their advert. I thought it was a bargain at the time and so even more so now.

Must be the one and I thought the same in regards to value, I think I must have just bought my old 996 Turbo X50 as I'm sure I would have paid the 12k or so difference for yours.

Unbelievably cheap supercar motoring

Like you I'd be happy to get back what mine cost me 6 years ago but I'm struggling to find anything that will satisfy me as much without adding £££silly so I'll be sticking for at least another 6-12 months.
