It really is ballache resizing images for the upload! I've powered through though!

And finally, for you JonTTT, as you did ask for pics... we went for pub lunch yesterday, took 4 attempts before we found one that was open.

Speedster style!

Must admit, it was fun to go sans roof. I think Soft-top delete with Speedster option is the sweet spot for me personally.

Weight Reduction Post:

Spare tyre and tool kit = 13.1kg
Engine cover cubbies = 3.1kg
OEM Seats 34kg (no rails or stalks) - 18.6kg = 15.4kg
OEM batt 16kg - 6.6kg = 9.4kg
HU and Amp delete = 3kg
Dash Speakers x2 = 0.6kg
Door speakers and bass boxes x2 = 4.2kg
Engine cover carpet = 4.3kg
Foot mats = 2kg
Rear boot upright carpet = 765g
Rear boot main carpet = 1.93kg
987 Engine Cover Mod = 3.45kg - 1.84kg = 1.61kg
Eibach Hollow ARBs = 3kg (median estimate)

Total = 62.4kg reduction.

Had hoped for more on the seats, must be honest. Guess I didn't factor in the rails and the side mounts.

Soft Top Update:

Originally the Hardtop with soft top delete not incl motor and mech had resulted in +7kg. On losing the gear boxes, arms and motor it sees an exact netting off of the swap.

Hi

Great car and thread. I'm very interested in your weight reductions. I think the spare wheel delete is a total must. The battery is another prime target. I must investigate whether that will work for me.

I have been driving mine with the roof down a lot recently, even in the rain. As long as you keep the speed up a bit light rain is no problem at all. I was forced to drive in torrential rain in the motorway a couple of weeks ago (2hrs), thankfully in moving traffic and I hardly got a drop on me. And that included massive spray from lorries. Its a truly great design. Perhaps many softops are like that?

All the best

Berni

Spare wheel delete for sure! I just bought a slime and pump kit in its replacement.

The racing battery is instant win too, 10kg for around £100 is very good for something you obviously can't do without.

Interesting you should say about the driving without the roof in the rain, a few sploshes came down yesterday and whilst in motion none got into the car. When I had my Cayman, super torrential rain would see not a drop on the rear windscreen ever. Aerodynamics just whooshing it clean over, rear wipers simply devils work on a Porsche.

I can take or leave a soft-top personally, bence I ripped it out. Had the car for a year, yesterday the first day I thought I'd go topless.

As for the weight reduction, my goal is to lose my body weight circa 69/70kg. On paper it doesn't to much for the 'power to weight' ratio... yet the bum dyno can without doubt tell when you have someone along for the ride can't it.

Great to see some pics :thumb: ........where are the ones on track

JonTTT, it was last weekend of November, last winter was wetter than an otters pocket wasn't it!

The pics offered by the photographer were pretty cr4p off the back of it.

Going to get back on track soon as I've swapped out the discs and pads.

My God Marty ...

It seems like only yesterday i was looking at the below picture.

Has it really been a year and hes now walking !!

My god, can't believe the difference, Iain. That was back when he had a distain for hair growth

He is MASSIVE now, in clothes for 3-4yo, no one ever believes he's not even two yet!

He's had two mummy haircuts now too, as have I post Covid. He loves his Porsches and his busses... the latter I'm not such a big fan of.
