Then & now...

Driving back from a friends this morning, I passed the garage where I stopped and took my first photograph of the 993 the day I bought it (28th May 2014). Obviously, couldn't resist taking a snap in the same parking bay. It gave me pause to reflect on that modern phrase "the journey" and to think about everything that I've done with the car in the +8 years since that day.

Enough mods to have bought a second 993. Drove to my wedding. Got me safely home from Le Mans when I had sepsis. Too many road trips and events to mention.

Love her more than ever.

Here's to the next 8 years!

2007 when brand new and 2022 - what a journey! Enjoyed every single one of the 103,000 miles thus far. I don't think anyone will notice?!

Thats with at least circa 20,000 miles less usage between 2018 and 2022 due to painting her three times before getting her back to something resembling / approaching factory.

Fun process though in the end and learned more than I wanted to re paint. I'd recommend to anyone that loves their 911 but do choose a quality "known" paint shop especially with something like an air cooled. One of the best experiences I've had with any car (in the end ).

Hmmm I'm 30 years behind him in terms of the overall length of ownership and 'only' 700,000 miles behind! 45 years ownership from new :worship:


No-ones catching that 930 but I will try for sure what a hero. I want to be just like him when I grow up 8)
