i am guessing Blue is the popular colour, not seen another in any other colour yet
They have “Atelier” colours now costing up to close to 4k! Alpine blue is now about £1800. The only non extra charge colour is white, but yes Blue is the most common.

Loads of colours now, this one is popular. Me? Has to be Alpine Blue!

My new (older) escort. 330hp, sadev, JEMS widetrack, inboard fuel tank. Should be fun!

New shopping trolley in UAE. No probs insuring our kids who have just passed their tests too. Still struggle with styling but the R drives well. Also feels more snug inside than our beloved Mk 7 GTI which is surprising as visually it looks bigger. Will stick a set of 19 inch BBS LM or RS, sports exhaust and remap once out of warranty. 400bhp just a remap away. From a 2.0 hot hatch. Incredible :)

I have always loved the look of the E Type, but have never even been in one let alone driven one. Question - I know a couple of people who have driven one and say they don’t handle anywhere near as well as they look, one even suggested they handle like a pig. Is this true?

Yours looks fabulous and the colour is very striking.

This Magnus Walker video on the E Type is excellent-

I think a well sorted E Type is actually a joy to drive, the 3.8 engine pulls fantastic and they are a blast to drive hard on a good twisty B road despite a bit of body roll….
But there are a lot of E Types floating around that are not well sorted.
The main issue with the E Type for me is the cramped cabin- if you are around 6ft tall
it’s not a particularly comfortable place to be on a long journey.
But- nothing gets a better reception on the road than an E Type.

Same with all classics. I used to go for an early morning drive in the GTR and dog walkers would glare at me, wave me to slow down or make angry gestures. The same would be egging me on, or waving me through in the escort.

I went through a run of Golf R’s 7/7.5 with various spec including Akropivic exhaust.
They are good but is not as fun as a Cayman or a base 911.

Yes any 911 or Cayman more fun. Chalk and cheese compared to a Mk 7 and 7.5 R. I went for Mk 7 GTI and GTI CS S when I had that choice back in the day preferring the GTI. New R is RWD biased. Completely different dynamically. Rocketship too.

:eek::eek::eek: that red E-type has triggered my PTSD.

43 years ago I was 'side swiped' by a drunk driver in one. My little plastic pig came off second best. My running board ended up wrapped around his front suspension unit.
