Afternoon all,

We recently purchased our first 911 and we couldn't be happier. It has been my dream car in all guises since I was a child. We moved over to the Netherlands 9 years ago and are very lucky to live within 30 minutes of the German autobahns. This means that we enjoy owning faster cars.

We have an Audi B5 S4 that has been a labour of love to run for 8 years and we decided that something less complex would suit us more. I used to be a mechanic and continue to do all the work myself.

Once we had decided that the time was right to sell the Audi and look at 911's it didn't take long to find the one for us.

It is a seal grey 996.1 C2 manual with factory aerokit and black leather interior with an alcantara steering wheel. The first owner was Porsche Stuttgart and the second owner was a director at Porsche centre Regensburg. Before the director sold the car it was fitted with a full replacement engine at 71'000 km. Subsequently it was imported to NL by a vintage Porsche specialist as his own daily car.

It is fitted with Bilsteins and a wonderful sounding sports exhaust.

Recent work before purchase includes IMS check and RMS. Gt3 waterpump etc.

Since purchase I have taken the wheelarch liners out to clean and inspect and removed the front bumper to inspect and clean the radiators and aircon condensers.
Final change from me was to fit winter tyres on a set of 5 spoke 997 wheels for continued use through winter, especially into Germany.
I will continue to read my way through the 996 forum to glean as much knowledge as I can from all the excellent posts.

Anyway, as I am aware, we need pictures....

What a great looking car... love the 996.1 with aerokit.

They are very good cars to work on, with plenty of information and videos available online.

Lovely car!

:welcome:

A 996.1 in seal grey is quite a rare sight.

Sorry for the late reply. I see from your thread that you have gone for a retrimmed wheel in the meantime but here is a picture of our wheel.

It makes the interior feel even more special and you wont regret it.

Another year has passed and due to a large family change of situation, we have only managed around 1000 km in the last year.

We have been blessed with twins and at the moment they just don't fit in the car. Hopefully this will change when the children are able to sit in forward facing child seats. As for putting a twin pram in the frunk, well :D.

Accordingly, I had been getting more and more frustrated walking past it parked on the drive and used as target practice by the local birds. This has led to the following purchase:
