Hi, just wanted to garner opinion from others.
We have a 2014 s-max bought as a 1 year old car from a Ford main dealer and only ever serviced at that dealer.
At this years service they have said a new sump is required (£850 parts and labour) as the sump plug threads have been stripped.
I have asked how this might have happened? The garage have said its normal wear and tear. I must confess I am surprised as the sump plug will have been in and out only 7 times.
Have others experience the same occurring on cars they have owned, in 40 years of car ownership across many manufactures its the first time I have encountered this ?
