Hi fellow 993 owners
I've not posted for a while and sadly I've decided to sell my beloved 993 C2 Cab that I've owned since 2005, I'm just not driving it enough, I'm currently preparing it for sale and need to put a new pair of boots on all round, I've always just put on N rated tyres and never been to fussed on tyre Brand Sony question is what brand of tyre would a buyer prefer to see on the car ? I need to buy 4, also any recommendations on the best place to buy ? Or should I just let my local Porsche Specialist order them in ? They will no doubt puta mark up on them.
Regards
Walt

Blackcircles for tyres.

Michelin would be my choice brand wise.

I've tried many and Michelins are the ones that always impress. PS4 or 4S are superb. A good premium set of boots says a lot about owner and car IMO. :thumb:

Michelin PS4 from Blackcircles.com, shouldn't cost much more than about £500 all in after discounts etc.

Hate to think what Porsche would charge :?:

Whilst I am not a tyre snob and my usual foray in this field would have me searching out Landsail and Happy Gallop brands I'd stick with Michelin for Porsche.

I wouldn't let the N rated mantra limit your choices. In many cases there are better non N rated tyres and when the N rating was developed for the 993 technology has moved on somewhat. MPS4S was not N rated in some sizes but does that make it a bad choice? Not in my book.

If you're flogging the car then the cheapest main brand that is used on the 993 would be my choice. Usually the only thing a buyer is interested in is how old they are not the make and tread depth as most 993 owners can still have +6mm tread on tyres over 10 years old :floor:

Had PS2 and now PS4, both great tyres :thumb:.

Worth noting Michelin released the PS5 earlier this year, so maybe consider that?

Another vote for Michelin. They're my go-to brand unless I cannot get the size I need from them.

Michelin PS4s, look great and can't be beaten.

Another vote for Michelin PS4 from me too

As an alternative to Michelin I can recommend Goodyear F1s too.......a great option and usually cheaper than Michelin :thumb:

Interestingly, I've started looking this week to put new rubber on the 4S and can't find either a Michelin PS4 or the new PS5 for the rears - 285/30 ZR18.

Any alternatives? PS2's available

I have never seen 285/30 18s in PS4 so for years have stuck with PS2s

Michelin do a 295/30/18 in the PS4S. Possibly worth checking on a tyre calculator to see if the rolling radius is comparable. Also check there's enough room in the arch to accommodate a slightly wider tyre. :thumb:

Thanks!

Just deliberating over a set of Pirellis or going PS2s
