Hi guys
First post as a Porsche owner, got a few questions if anyone could help it would be appreciated.
Ok, so the car I bought (significantly cheaper than market value for A1 running cars) knowing it had a misfire issue at higher speeds; it was a bit of a rush purchase. I have done a fair bit of work on past cars including refurbs, engine builds and a kit car build or two but I was hoping not to have to get my hands too dirty on this as I dont have time nowadays .
I did get it for a very good price but the mileage is 90k, but hey, I was only looking at getting a 997 3.8 so I took the gamble. Hopefully it wont be one I live to regret !!
The seller bought it as a fully running car but then discovered on the drive home he had been stiffed and once the car was at motorway speed (and temps) it started misfiring under throttle. He didn't want the hassle of trying to get it fixed as he works out of the country so I decided to take a chance on it (2 weeks after he bought it he put it up for sale as spares or repair).
I am getting it recovered to a friends garage (they run a few 911s themselves) so all will become clearer later this week but just wanted to say hi and I will be back.... for some 911 knowledge from anyone able and willing to help :worship:
I am hoping it's coil packs. Reciepts (got plenty of them with it) show they were replaced 3 years ago, oil pressure is sweet, idle is rough, gentle throttle application it runs better, but it is not a happy 911 at the moment. No warning lights showing on the dash. Will post back with fault codes and findings.
Thanks for any help
