Picked up on this vid which I found interesting as it raises a question of evaluation of an icon and at this very difficult time..?

I suspect that many, if not most of us depend in varying degrees on the financial aspects of a vehicles value retention, with considerations relative to the possibility, should it arise that it may have to be sold due to a change in our financial circumstances, or in more relaxed circumstances where we just feel like a change..?

It seems that at the time of sale/purchase that the HISTORY of a vehicle can carry a premium on a vehicle that otherwise might seem to be in very good condition, and if that history is incomplete or has a black mark by way of a CAT "C" background etc, then regardless of present condition perhaps it will be valued by the MARKET at perhaps minus 33% or so in order to sell ...? Of course there can be a raft of reasons why the history might not read as ideal and there will be stories a plenty concocted to dilute any buyer concerns... (-:

I guess if the car it`s self matches personal ideals, and if one can NOT afford to loose a high percentage if not all of the purchase price, then it seems logical that the prevailing market conditions will determine the risks involved at some future point in time.

Of course the joy of ownership of a special Porsche can perhaps justify the amount spent when compared to other more fleeting of life`s expenditures, thinking holidays and other expensive habits included..? (-:

Accurate evaluation of ANYTHING right at this moment of time is well beyond my scope, but if I wanted a Turbo and I could HOPE to write this expenditure off in time... I would be in there...(-:

I did think it sounded a bit rough when driven though...?
