Help needed - adding some red or yellow to my 991

Hi all,

So I managed to save up and purchase my first Porsche. I would have loved to have black alcantara interior with some bright colour accents, but my budget didn’t stretch that far. My interior is black and grey with grey stitching.

So I’m going to retrofit some combination of:
1. Coloured seatbelts - thanks for the recommendations from this thread
2. Coloured rev counter / dials
3. Coloured Sports chrono (even though mine is a Carrera S, I saw a video on YouTube where they added the chrono solely for the clock function)
4. Vinyl wrap a centre stripe on the steering wheel (cheap and easy mod seen on this forum)

Key question - Do I go for yellow or red?

Yellow
Pros: brighter and goes better with the grey interior, matches Porsche logo on alloys
Cons: clashes with brake callipers and rear lights

Red
Pros: matches brake callipers, rear lights (and temporarily the baby seat)
Cons: duller inside, doesn’t “pop” as much or match the grey

To test I printed out some dials / sports Chrono and got some sample seatbelts etc. and took some pics.

Thoughts? It will probably cost me about £700 to fit it all excluding parts and materials (and so potentially the same again if I want to put it back to factory when I sell in the future). Reckon anyone else other than me would like this?!

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the Forum.
With your interior/exterior colour scheme, do feel that the red seatbelts and steering wheel stripe would be the classier option.
Would avoid going for the dials in red, and instead go carrara white.

Thanks for the advice. From the outside red looks more consistent with the callipers. From the inside, yellow all the way! Will keep sleeping on it!

I think the red is more complimentary.

Good to see another 911 family car!

A great idea to add some colour to your car and still very OEM. As you have grey leather I'd also suggest the red belts. As for the dials, red or white as already mentioned.

If the seats were black then the contrast of yellow would pop far more in my opinion.

However, it's your car so go with whichever makes you happier :)

I’m guessing the red to go with the red calipers
