Fitted - GT3 RS wheels

Do you mind me asking who did you buy the wheels from?

If they are not protruding past the wheel arch you have definitely got the front wheels from a GT3 (not GT3RS) with rear GT3RS wheels.

To be fair the wheels were advertised here quoting RS offsets front and back.

http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=128340

You can see however in the ad photos that the fronts are not protruding so are GT3s not RSs..........so as you say Matt has the right ones.

Ah good so thats that resolved then , Matt did even better than he expected then as a pr of GT3 fronts and GT3RS rears would have been big bucks to source new , and as stated further up would probably have required buying 2 full sets. nice result :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Matt, pretty sure that the set you have bought are these ones.......

http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=105194&highlight=

More videos on youtube if you are interested........ as has been said, there are not many sets of these wheels kicking around.

This will give you an idea of how they would look with black centre caps (Monky London had RS centre caps).

I have the black CLs on my set but they are not cheap, £600+ I think.

To confirm, it's a full set of RS wheels - I checked all part numbers and offsets and inspected each one very closely before parting with any cash.

Fronts are 9x19 ET47 p/n: 997.362.157.96
Rears are 12x19 ET48 p/n 997.362.165.91

While to some degree the extra width is compensated for by the offset they do stick out a few mm but not exposing tyre tread (which is where it becomes illegal) and not quite in the realms of the VW Polo stretched tyres crew! I think it gives it a nice stance. :thumb:

I'm just heading up to the Ace Cafe so maybe see some of you there shortly...

Ah ok mate well all I know is it looks good :thumb:

Thanks guys.
Yes I've seen these advertised for a while on Facebook, the owner lives in the Midlands and has a 997.2 turbo S cab and is selling to buy a 991 turbo. he previously had a a 2009 Atlas Grey 997.2 turbo which was previously owned by MonkyLondon. The wheels were originally fitted by MonkyLondon to his 2009 997.2 turbo.

They were then swapped with the original RS Spyder alloys which were fitted to the Atlas Grey 997.2 turbo prior to it being sold to a trader (Car was then advertised at Romans)

From memory these are definitely 997.2 GT3 front and 997.2 GT2RS rears. Will have to have a look at MonkyLondons old threads regarding the wheels.

GT3 RS Part number :thumb:

Corrrect OEM part number for rear wheels for 997.2 GT3RS & 997.2 GT2RS

However 997.362.157.96 are OEM part number for front wheel of 997.2 GT3

So, hopefully to clarify - I did indeed buy these from the guy in the Midlands as advertised on this forum. Whether or not they were MonkyLondon's wheels, I have no idea. What I can say with absolute 100% certainty is that they are ALL GT3RS wheels. They are NOT GT3 wheels, front or back.

Sorry Bikeracer, but that is not correct.

The GT3RS Fronts are 9" with 47 offset and the part number IS 997 362 157 96.
The GT3RS Rears are 12" with 48 offset and the part number is 997 362 165 91.
The above is what I have on the car in the pictures shown, and the sizes, offsets and part numbers are all stamped on the reverse of the wheels.

The below details are for the narrow bodied 997.2 GT3 Centre Lock wheels (which, just to clarify, I do NOT have):
The GT3 Fronts are 8.5" with a 53 offset and the part number is 997 362 197 95.
The GT3 Rears are 12" with a 63 offset and the part number is 997 362 165 90.

Not drastically important (they could say Austin Allegro on the back and I'd still be happy with the way they look) but hopefully this helps clarify things. :thumb:

Saw it down Ace last night and wheels looked very nice

Apologies just checked and MonkyLondin did say he fitted a complete set of GT2RS wheels, however I was under the impression that he had swapped the front to GT3 8.5" which he obviously hadn't.

This advert also caused the confusion as it states the wheels are off a 2012 GT3.

Enjoy the new wheel & Tyres, they look superb 👍 must be getting awesome grip from the Cup Tyres in this weather.

Likewise I was under the incorrect impression that ML had GT3 fronts as the GT3 RS/ GT2 RS fronts had too much poke which is why they needed the extenders........ clearly not the case especially on a lowered car.

I always thought that the stance on MLs car looked different to mine but put it down to the Cup 2s having a curved sidewall unlike my MPSS.

Matt, here is a comparison of your 9" RS fronts to my 8.5" GT3s........ not much difference at all
