I don't have the phone prep cable so looking for suggestions on where to get power for a couple of phone charger leads that don't stick out of the dashboard.

A fuse tap seems to be one option and taking a feed from the existing live feed on the cig lighter another.

I am thinking of fitting something like this out of view. https://www.amazon.co.uk/CHGeek-Soc...eywords=USB+car+fitting&qid=1582147117&sr=8-1

Any other options and suggestions please of how to power it?

Yeah - my head unit has multiple USB sockets.

I previously had something like this for charging. You can cut the lighter plug off the end and hard wire straight in to the back of the fag lighter, then mount this somewhere discreet (like in the centre glove box where I mounted my USB sockets):

Thanks Alex. I should have thought ahead when I fitted the new head unit! Do you know if the cigarette lighter unscrews or pushes out?

Just pushes out, but you can also push out the trim from round the head unit that houses the light (see my thread above). Easy enough to access :thumb:

Thanks Alex, I wil check that out.

Tap the back of the Cigarette lighter for constant 12V or check in the radio loom for switched 12 V. There are a couple of sor=urces in the back of the radio area inc phone prep,

and cut holes in back of cubby, or glove box or arm rest cubby; alternatively

and have then hanging down under the centre console an inch about where the hand brake is - so when you use them the cables are out of line of sight...

I have the second option as i can poke them back under the console and pretend they are not there :)

I thought I was being very clever when I tapped the switched live while putting my double din head in to give me a phone charger in the back of the cubby hole.
So I chose a transformer with a microUSB hard wired because I'm never going to get apple anything and Android is microUSB.

Apart from now they are all going to USB-C. Doh.

So wire in standard USB sockets then you can plug in short leads of whatever flavour you require in the future
