I have all the PDFs but the files are large so I'm finding it hard to share these to you. I will try to come up with something.

As for cleaning the engine internals, I use brake cleaner for everything, you can get 6 large cans for 15 quid.

I'll send the files in the morning :thumb:

Hi Guys

Thank you so much. I did not realise they were so big. My brother is just trying to work out how to use his dropbox if that helps. He's better with a spanner thankfully haha.

All the best

Hi

Question please guys, we bought new small end bearings, Porsche ones, but they do not have holes in them. This is a bit confusing as the old ones do.

Also they seem like they will need pressing in. I guess that is normal, or is there a reaming process of some sort to follow?

Many thanks

Berni

Hi

No such luck with ours, they definitely had some play.

Today was drill out snapped manifold stud day. Never fun. In fact we are going to have a look at renting/getting a jig for the remaining really tough ones.

Tks

cracking thread, really enjoying it.
"thefinn" on here rents out manifold jigs.
Good luck

Hi Guys

Does anyone know how to align the piston squirters in the crank carriers? The squirter is offset and there is a punch mark on the upper surface. Apart from that the conrods with new little end bushes are back, and the ultrasonic cleaner has been working overtime.

All the best

Great work. Always nice to see someone not afraid to do their own work...

Hi

Most jobs on the car are reasonably straightforwards, and there is a lot of information and expertise available on this forum and the internet. Not so for engine work, which although you can do yourself (outside of the machining) requires specialist information which is not freely available (unlike for the earlier cars like the 993 etc).

If you are not used to doing work yourself, start small, take your time and enjoy :)!

All the best
