We have been getting a few of these cars in with hybrid insulation faults recently .. its mainly down to water ingress .

Pictures of the last Cayenne which had the hybrid battery sitting in 3-4 inches of water ... this seriously corroded the battery pack .. we managed to reinstate it but it was expensive !

I did a post a while back about the roof drains blocking and causing water ingress .. http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=136782

Panamera and the rear light units seem to be a cause .

Either way .. keep an eye on the boot or condensation on the screen this time of year when you go to start the car .. if the windows are wet inside then you have water in the car .

Panamera it's a bit hard to actually see without removing the boot base panel but its worth it !!

Just to point out .. it's testament to the sealing on these batteries and the fail safe systems that they shut down ... the voltage will kill a person instantly if touched or rather damaged in the wrong place .. mechanics shall we say !!!!

Hi Demort

Are the roof drains the same as those on the non-Hybrid cars i.e. are they also blocking ?

thanks

Roof drains are the same on Hybrid or non Hybrid .. the blockage on either model will cause expensive repairs as the BOSE speaker . Amp and rear end control units are located under where it will leak let alone the Hybrid battery if that model .
