I've received a quote for a Tiptroic refresh on my '03 996 3.6 C4S. My question is the quote shows 8 litres of 3353 ATF @ £334.94. This seems excessive considering comprable fluid is available at half the price. I have also read it's difficult to get the full tank drained meaning you only need about 4 litres. I like to use my indie but am contemplating supplyig a local garage with the kit from design 911 @ £110 saving on the cost of the fluids & a furter £95 for the filter. Toughts

Ask them what method they use to replace this fluid - some newer machines flush several more liters (while you can observe what comes in and out of the gearbox). That will use more atf fluid, than the gearbox can accommodate itself.
It doesn't explain the price, but at least might explain the amount.
