997.1 Turbo wheel options

My 2007 wheels need a refurb again. When I bought the car 2014, they were tatty so the dealer refurbed them. The laquer (or whatever the finish is) has come off again, there's also some alloy corrosion so 8 years and 12k miles and they look really tatty again. Though not kerbed at all!

Spoke to someone about a refurb and they mentioned you can only really do it twice and these polished alloy type wheels have a habit of decaying.

So a few options;

1. Refurb them again (£600-£800)
2. Buy some genuine replacements (perhaps turbo II ones) (~£4k)
3. Get some aftermarket wheels (~£2-3k)

For 2 and 3 I'd put the original ones to one side and sell them with the car (whenever that may be).

Has anyone else faced this dilemma and what did you do?

Gratuitous pics of cars with alternative wheels appreciated. Bonus points for Cobalt cars!

Thanks in advance.

Many thanks for the pics. Those BBS FI look great, but £2k per wheel is too much for me.

There are some cheaper BBS ones I'll look at.

Not so sure about the gold wheels. Always think of a scooby when I seen blue and gold!

Thanks

Something like this... Anthracite on a cobalt car?

I'm in the same boat, 997.1 Turbo, I'm about to have all four alloys refurbished by Chris. mailto:[email protected] . Worth giving him a call, and he's the only guy I'd trust. I like the Gen 2 center locks, but add in hubs etc, it's cheaper to refurb and it's hard to justify with my man maths. I've added 7&15mm spacers with Techart springs, keeps the car looking fresh IMO.

I have genuine Turbo II's on my 997.2 C4S with MPS4S tyres. Possibly could let these go if you're interested.
