eBay 964 - prior knowledge/advice?

There must be a story to this or (a) The seller is located in the wrong part of the country, and/or (b) the price is too high :dont know:

A well sorted C4 with 114k could realise c£30k at a dealer so mid £20k would be a very reasonable price to pay. Colour and trim combo has everything going for it and I'd keep the wheels/tear drop mirrors as IMHO it sets if off superb especially with the revised ride height :thumb:

From the close up of the RNS pic it looks like it could have had paint (orange peel?) but the rubbers look as they've been on for years.

Give him a call to sound him out and take it from there (and let us know). If I was in the market it would be on my viewing list

ooooh that does look nice, must not bid, must not bid .......... :thumb:

Very nice , looks well sorted , imo you would spoil it by replacing the wheels with D90s and the Flag mirrors .

Ideally someone needs to drop a 'Large' bid in and then withdraw/revise it when you realise you've added too many zeros so that we have an idea of the reserve  or ask him his bottom line.

12 bids in with 9 days to go.............it can only go one way and my guess is he will want to shift this for Christmas, it's been advertised for a few months with no interest so a deal will likely be done 'offline' :thumb:

Plus he's also got the original Cup1 Alloys however it may still have original suspension and just lowered springs. :dont know:

It's a 400mile round trip for me and I'm off this week but wont travel unless the price is in my ballpark. :what:

I wonder why it was originally withdrawn from sale? Or is this the new owner sellng up so quickly?

Chris

I agree Keith. When the 964 came out I had a 3.2 Carrera and at the time I was disappointed they didn't develop the Fuchs for the ABS system and the flags just looked out of place with the new streamlined features. It is well documented that Porsche's coffers were emptying at an alarming rate. Porsche replaced the flags when the parts bins were sufficiently emptied. It may make it period correct but it doesn't do anything for the overall design or the aesthetics of the car, IMHO of course

It's a nice looking car and I'm sure it's a long way off the reserve at the moment.

Cheers,
Paul

This car is local to me although I must admit to never have seen it out and about. Chances are it has been serviced by Motortune in Shotts which is the local specialist. If so I'm sure they will give you an over the phone assessment, they tend to remember the older stuff........

Dont think so as I remember the houses in the background. Anyone with more skills than me can access archived eBay adverts?

Its the same pictures, I know the area well and recognise it from the first auction........doesn't mean its the same seller though :dont know:

Nice area - expensive houses........Ideal second hand car hunting ground!

Now 14 bids and up to £17k

When I posted that it was at £10,900, it's now over £17k and it's still not yet at the reserve. It will be interesting to see (circa) what it is, my guess is £26k any offers guys?

Cheers,
Paul

£20,002, hasn't topped the reserve.

Passes revolver over the table to the lightweights opposite..........
