Having just swapped the wheels on my 996.2 for Sport Designs, I now have the original, genuine, BBS manufactured Carrera 5-spokes for sale (also known as the MY02 5-spoke), complete with a set of part-worn tyres. These are reportedly one of the lightest 18" OE alloys wheels available. They are sized for 996 narrow body fitment but may fit other models such as the 993 and 997 (please check for yourself).
Fronts:
- 18x8J ET50, 5x130 PCD, 996.362.136.03
- Bridgestone Potenza RE050A 225/40R18 88Y, approx 4.0-4.5mm tread both tyres (the Michelins shown in the photos are being swapped to my new wheels this week)
Rears:
- 18x10J ET65, 5x130PCD, 996.362.140.03
- Pirelli P-Zero Rosso 285/30ZR18 N4 rated, approx 4.5-5.0 mm tread both tyres. One had a minor puncture repair in the mid-section of the tyre very soon after the tyres were fitted in November 2012. Has covered 4.5k miles no problem since then.
The wheels were professionally refurbished by MyAlloys of Bristol/Reading in early 2013 and have no curbing or damage. They have been on the car for approx 4.5k miles since then, through both summer and winter, and they display the normal amount of surface marks etc. for this kind of mileage and general use. The inside surfaces of the fronts have the odd residue/discolouration mark from balancing weight removal and there are some small areas of flaky paint on the inner rim edge from tyre removal, although these are barely noticeable when the wheels are fitted.
I'll also supply a set of aftermarket wheel centre caps, shown in the photos, although a couple of these are past their best and could do with replacement.
These wheels look great on any narrow body variant of the 996, are very easy to clean and are in good condition overall. If you require additional details or more photos, please don't hesitate to contact me by PM.
