A "GUNDO HACK", is turning a stock 997 muffler into a PSE (Porsche Sport Exhaust).

This is accomplished by welding a 1.5"-2" pipe connecting the 2 pipes of the muffler. It creates a much deeper and louder sound than stock, similar or better than the PSE.

This can be done by any local garage or exhaust specialist for about £250-£400 (prices do vary!)

Just remove mufflers, take them to a muffler shop and show them these pictures, and say: "DO THIS!"

Here are some POST PSE HACK (Gundo hack) PICTURES:

BTW the "GUNDO HACK" is called that because it was popularized by a USA Porsche owner Gundo, after he posted pictures and explanations and decided to do the hack with a larger diameter pipe (2").

Prior it was just called PSE HACK.

Gundo hack underway

Following my previous thread on the Milltek back boxes, I have now purchased a second set of back boxes, which are having the gundo hack exhaust modification carried out as we speak.

Pictures and sound clips to follow......

May I ask where the name "Gundo" originated from.

I presume a US site?

Could be worse, could be Gozer the Gozerian.

Yeah, Gundo was the fourm member that first posted details and photos of how to do (what was previously called) the PSE hack.

Not sure which forum though... :dont know:

Not Leland Pate or Darin Fister then?

This-thread-is-useless-without-someone-explaining-what-a-Gundo-hack-is-or-providing-a-link-smilie.

Go to 6speed and seach Gundo hack.....

So the Gundo hack is exactly the same as the Oettle hack for a 996, but for a 997?

I'm off to start a thread for the 998/991 ABZ hack!

Or go to 911uk.com and search Oettle or FisterD.....
