996 headlights swap! could be done or sacrilege???

Hi,
I love the brand. I have done many things in the past to support my love for it, but I can't afford a new Porsche, and I would settle for a 911 996 Carrera but I can't stand those headlights. Has anyone considered replacing them with 987 Boxster ones, and patching the bonnet to match?
