folks

does anyone have the standard settings for the 996 GT3 mk2 around :
camber
castor
alignment general
cross settings.

would be a big help, Nick

I have to ask why - the one thing that you do not want to do is put the factory geo on one. But default they understeer rather a lot and readily roll over the shoulders of the tyres (particularly the front).

But assuming that you just want the numbers as a baseline, I have them as :
Front:
Castor: 8Ëš (+/- 0Ëš30')
Camber: -1Ëš (+/- 0Ëš05')
Cross Camber: 0Ëš10'
Toe: 0.5mm per side (+/- 0.1mm)
Total Toe: 1.1mm (+/- 0.3mm)
Rear:
Camber: -1.5Ëš (+/- 0Ëš05')
Cross Camber: 0Ëš10'
Toe: 1.7mm per side (+/- 0.3mm)
Total Toe: 3.5mm (+/- 0.5mm)
Cross Toe: 0.7mm (+/- 0.3mm)

(that is off an old print out, but I think they are right {though still wrong if you take my meaning. The out of the box is to make it safe for any dunce to drive as there was no traction or stability control on them in those days})

What you should be looking for to make it drive properly is up to 1mm of front toe, -2.5Ëš of front camber and -2Ëš of rear camber as a starting point. Really though I would just take it to a geo specialist like CG and have it sorted to drive how you like it.

thanks colin. its to help out a mate who has just started setting up cars with his new kit and stuff. much obliged, Nick
