On the 996 what clips/ fixes the unit into the car please?
 
Page 146 in the manual.
 
and if you don't have the manual - They are locked in position with a mechanism on the underside of the whole unit that is locked/released by turning the end of the mechanism with the key provided in the toolkit. This mechanism is accessible from inside the boot behind the carpeted panel at the side of the light unit.
 
Fixed the headlight in place this morning. Thanks Alex. Was just as you said. Very easy to do.
