Got my car back after a tandam pump replacement and the engine management light has started to come on.

If I disconnect the battery for a minute and reconnect the light goes off for
A few drives, but then comes back on.

Any thoughts? Or does it need a plug in?

May or may not be connected...

The actuator rods were also replaced as the car was dropping boost. I have noticed since getting the car back that boost does drop off by a few psi after a few seconds on full throttle. The boost drops whether in sport overboost or normal setting.

Is this normal to drop off boost on full throttle especially after having the actuators just replaced? Could there be a leaking hose or intercooler that's setting off this warning light.

There are much better people on here than me but your engine light is much more likely to be related to the boost issue than the pump. Something is clearly not right with the either the actuator fitting/setting or you could indeed have a loose hose. I'd go with an actuator not being properly fitted or set up. Its not normal for boost to drop like that.

Edit - Just re-read your post and see that the car was dropping boost before the rods were replaced. Could well be a loose hose or a defective N75 valve. Cheap fixes once diagnosed if it is one of these.

Yep very likely whoever has fitted the actuator rods has not done so correctly hence the check engine light coming on.Who carried out the work for you?

Stewart Roden motors Edinburgh.

Will book it into Porsche Glasgow and get it checked out to be sure.

Disconnecting the battery will create it's own issues - you need the error code for the engine management light which will need a trip to a Porsche dealer or decent independent Porsche specialist.

Get the codes read asap

Actuator rods coming off don't light up the eml

+1

One of my actuators seized the other day and while I lost most of my boost and the car sounded like it had late stage ebola I didn't get any dashboard warnings. 10 minutes with a bit of lube and a pair of pliers soon brought it back to full health. If your EML came on then it would suggest another (hopefully not serious) problem...

Both rods were just replaced for the same reason, I'm wondering
If the boost pressure hasn't perhaps been set currently or there is a leaking radiator or hose.
