996 Alarm Problems

Can anyone help!!
I took out the battery and battery pan on my 1998 996 to get better access to clean / hose out all the leaves and stuff around the battery compartment and two areas to each side and to clear the drain holes ahead of winter. The battery went back in ok and after resetting the clock and radio code I thought everything was fine, now the alarm is going off randomly even though it's two days since I did the work.
As anyone any ideas how to fix it before the wife or neighbours kill me!
