Well, OPC Leicester are always going to be top whack expensive for everything......but why on earth is this 69k?
The model is hardly that rare and desirable is it?

911 CARRERA TARGA 2dr (1986)
For sale from Porsche Centre Leicester, in Leicestershire, United Kingdom
£69,850

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201409237617474

Mileage: 48,152
Year: 1986
Doors: 2

I'd guess it's the mileage that counts. :dont know:

I think that you will find that this car has been subject to a comprehensive restoration by the OPC techs as a recent internal project.
I saw the car in its pre resto state when i was there to pick up my Turbo S back in May.

I also saw their 911 E ( i think it was, i forgot to take pics in the excitement of my own car !!) ) in the showroom at the time that was part of their anniversary project.

The workmanship on that car was tremendous and a credit to their Technician who did the work.

For someone with the will anfd the cash , that would be a nice car , the targa is a great looking car , overlooked by many , but its too rich for me also at 70K!

:agree:

+1 - I was in OPC Leicester a couple of days ago and was just blown away by the quality of this car. I was chatting to the technician who did most of the work on it. He's the same guy who has worked on the 964 which I have just bought and is a 964 owner himself.

I understand it may have been meticulously restored but surely anyone with any nous could purchase a targa far cheaper than that and even after paying to get it restored to mint condition by a specialist find they have saved thousands off the OPC Leicester price. Oh well, a fool and his money...

Funny they dont even mention its an SSE.

£40K+ not restored, price isnt crazy really

But how much credit should the OPC , the technician take for the cars in the Porsche restoration competition? The OPC strips and refits the car and does the mechanicals , but everything else (Body repair , paint , interior etc etc) is outsourced to other companies. So in fact the bits that you can see on those cars that make them look amazing were not done by the OPC!! The whole competition is a bit of a con.

Dont like it  I'd want pre IB for that.

Having said that I've been offered one of these that needs a bit of cosmetic work but comes with initial purchase invoice and factory debadged at the request of the owner who subsequently went on to have a turbocharger fitted after 12 months :dont know:

Wow 2 years ago I nearly bought a later guards red coupe with the g50 box for 17k.

Have I missed something?

Yes, the boat. Lol.

I'm pretty sure I saw this at the PCGB Porsche Festival at Brands Hatch last week on the Porsche stand, it's immaculate. As already pointed out, its been a restoration project competition for OPCs.

Yep - it won some award (best restoration??) at the Porsche Festival.

Maybe if it was a turbo! 70 grand for a targa? No. Don't care if its been restored, some loon collector will buy it and forget they own it I expect. 😮😮😮😮
