I,m thinking of getting a 996 or early 997 just one thing are the rear seats suitable for anyone other than a child?think I might know the answer but for short ish journeys I wondered if they are suitable for a slim 5ft 9 tall 15 yr old...lol.

If you use the 'Search Forum' function you'll find lots of threads about this.

In summary ........ an average build 5ft 9ins adult wouldn't be comfortable for long but a young, slim person shouldn't find it too much of a problem.

If the front passenger and driver are considerate enough to compromise their own comfort and move their seats forward and backrests upright then there is space enough to carry 4 full size passengers in relative comfort for an hour or more of relaxed driving. Drive it like you stole it on some bumpy twisty roads and I doubt they'd thank you for more than a few minutes!

The one caveat to the above, if the driver's my size (6'3") then the seat behind is only good for some extra storage.

I think they were originally conceived for dogs and/or babies. Anything else is just a bonus.

My two Labradors love the rear seats in my vert. The teenage kids have squeezed in for really short trips but they fit best when sat singly with feet over into the other rear seat. Adults in there would be ridiculous I think.
