boxster centre console into a GT3/911?

am I right in thinking that some boxster parts are interchangeable with the 996 911 model?

am chasing down a center console from an original boxster.

looks a bit shorter than the 911 one but the 911 has a small extension at the back of it?

They are slightly different but it will work. I know this as I took the centre console out of my written off boxster S and put it into my 911.

I had only just finished converting it to double din and didn't fancy doing it again. Think I even have a spare center console in my garage.

Short answer is yes AFAIK, though there are actually 3 bits that the OP could be referring to. Normally one would assume it to mean the console cover over the transmission tunnel with the cubby, handbrake and gear stick. However, it could also refer to the centre dashboard facia plate (air vents and stereo bit, which of course changed between gen 1 and 2) or the lower section of the centre console (as is deleted but could be optioned back on GT3s).

vince I meant the centre console that runs through the gearbox/tranny area and not the centre dash piece.

it looks like the GT3 has a little plate at the end near the rear seat area to extend the reach and the rear leather panels are a bit longer.

most folks say it fits and interchangeable.

Cheers for clearing that up, I got most of the way through sure I was on the right track then realised that you were probably talking about the bit in the ebay listing. I think they look great all sprayed up like that as well, only down side I see is that they look terrible when the paint scratches. I cant see the extra change compartment at the back making much difference in the gt cars without the rear seats.
