Memory seat fix

The memory seats on my 996 have not worked since I collected it last week. The seat movement was fine but I was unable to store positions to the buttons or keys.

I popped the trim off that houses the button panel. This took a bit of wiggling and firm pressure to come off. There were no screws holding the panel on but I noticed two holes on the inside that may at one time have had screws.

Once the panel was off the problem was apparent. The little black connector had come off the button panel. I replaced this and hey presto I have memory seats. The panel was replaced with firm pressure. All in all about 5 - 10 minutes work.

From memory there should be No3 M6 x 25 Hexhead screws holding the trim in place. The seat has to be moved fwd & back in order to get the allen key
in to tighten them up.

Probably why they were never put back in.

Yeah, a bit of a fiddly job but not difficult.
But then they didn't connect the cables properly either. :dont know:

I had the same problem, popped the trim off and I also had the black connector disconnect.

An M5 Allen key is required for the two screws. When you pop the two black screw covers off, just push the Allen key through the carpet to find the screw.
