I purchased my C2S in February this year for what I thought was a very good price from then I still look to see what they go for and now it seems you cant get a good low mileage one for under £27K.

Some C2S's are going for well into the 30's how did this happen or did I just buy at the rite time?

People who own them don't want to sell them as they're so much more enjoyable in summer. People who want one have reduced numbers to view therefore the better examples will command a premium.

Simple supply and demand. I do hope the trend lasts.

Values of all sub £30k 911s seem to have taken an upturn this year.

A year ago sub £10k 996.1s were common, 996Ts were available for £20k (and less) and lots of 997s were tumbling down to the low £20ks.

God knows how much my TT is worth now with 32k on the clock!!!

I wonder if new cars to the market are leaving potential punters cold with all their nannying systems and electronic interference. Keen drivers want a more analogue drive from their performance cars, so the way to go is for older cars. Also, the economy is getting in decent shape, so more peeps have money to spend, can't think of a better way than a Porsche 911.

I'm not sure if that's the reason to go for a 997

+1

Seems to be pretty much across the board with the models that are not produced any more.

There are appears to be a 1 in the wrong place! OPC supplied that would be in the £70K bracket.

Another thought I had on prices is that where respected specialists are perceived to be talking incessantly about the failure rates of the M96/M97. All it does in reality is erode the residuals, which is fine in enabling people to access the 911 for the first time.

However, the downside is the entry cost for a fifteen year old 996 is approximately the cost of a rebuild. I don't see any future market in rebuilding an engine on a car which is only worth the rebuild. Therefore, the specialists will see fewer rebuilds over time rendering their own work pointless in the not too distant future.

Why does he think a green car is worth £100,000 more than the other stock available..

Chancer or idiot......Maybe both..

You can easily get into a 997 with low mileage for under 20k...

Because its Viper Green 8) Looks like a bargain to me!

True, but nowhere near as easily as you could 6 months ago.

There's far fewer sub- £20k 997s around at the moment and most of them are high mileage.

A low mile 997 for under £20k, really?

Refer to the Auto Trader ad linked by alpinaman.

63k is probably more 'average' than 'low' but it's a lot of car for under £19k.
