Why is this car still for sale?

That should have shifted.....perhaps people don't like the non-standard wheels. They look like TechArts to me but could be replicas.

Thought the same about the wheels. Other than that, looking nice, taken care of, and all theright colours inside and out!

83k is not 'low mileage' for a 12 year old 911.

There's lot of cars for sale out there with less miles and for a private sale it's not really priced competitively.

Agreed.

I don't like the wheels but I am intrigued by a "mint engine" :dont know:

I'm looking for my first 911 at the moment, and have noticed this one lagging around with a few others which never seem to sell.

I don't think it's massively overpriced for a sub-100k mile C4S, even as a private sale, but things I do think will put off a potential buyer are:

- Lowestoft is a bit of a trek for much of the population
- Aftermarket wheels probably put off more people than they attract on a 911
- Photo location - doesn't really tie in with a 'premium' car
- Text speak in the advert combined with a dubiously spaced private plate may disincline people to deal with the vendor...

Shame as it may well be a lovely car. If de-chavved and up for sale with a specialist it would be up for a good few grand more, I suspect.

If driven 5k miles per annum, hat gives the next owner 3 years before it reaches the magic 100k and the re-sale value drops-off dramtically. I would not want to enter into a fiscussion on engine longevity etc. but sadly when the water-cooled cars reach 100k miles they drop off the radar like flight MH370.

The wheels are naff. The price is high for an 80k miler. The gearbox has been reconditioned - by who and when? Clutch? Porsche history - major service done - by who?

Suffolk is a long way out for many. But worth a phone call due diligence - ask him to have th service book open in front of him when you call him and go through it with a fine tooth comb - and ask for the receiot for the gearbox work to red out what was done, when, why and by whom.

Less than 7K miles per year?? That's low mileage in my book ... and it seems a good price - I'd expect that to sell.

Low for an ordinary car maybe but not for a 911.

See here ==> Average mileage for a 996

Eh??! According to your figures in that thread it is only a couple of hundred miles per year over the "average" ...! That's just one good Sunday drive ...!

2002. 72 cars. Average mileage per annum over 11 years = 6782

Exactly what I'm saying.

83k is average, not low.

 Ok - average mileage for a 911 then ...! Jeez ...

I'd be worried why has only 1 tyre been changed and not a pair. Is that a bad geo setup or suspension component on the way out?

For the record the only reason I made specific mention of the mileage was that the first words in the description line of the advert are "low miles".

Given that there are dozens of similar cars out there with a lot less miles on them it seemed a strange USP to use.
