Allow me to introduce myself....

Been lurking here for a while. Think its about time I introduced myself.

Firstly I would like to say thank you to everyone for contributing to the forum as I have used it many times for resource. A stirling job well done chaps.

I've been a Porsche owner on and off for a few years. I acquired a very nice 1996 C2 three years ago from a chap in Cornwall and have loved every minute of ownership. I don't "spanner" myself but let my local specialists do the honours. I always like to check the order of work on here though, before handing the keys over to my mechanic!

I have another thread in the for sale/parts section that was an introduction and a request (see other thread about me wanting to swap my red rear lights for amber ones http://www.911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=86829 )

Note to whomever "regulates" the forum, I understand why it was moved. It would be considered polite to let the original poster know where it has gone so any individuals whom are not used to internet forums (such as me this is the first and only forum I have ever joined) don't initially think they have been outcast by default then spend an hour looking for it.

Its a pleasure to make everyones acquaintance and I wish you all safe and pleasant motoring.

-Sebastian

Hello Sebastian, welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the introduction. I'm sure you'll settle in nicely, this is a very friendly place. However, so as not to upset any of the crowd, I would post some pictures and more details of your car ASAP!

:welcome:

I believe the subject of letting ordinal posters know has been bought up before, and as I understand it the tidying/correct placement/ moderation of posts is quite a major task, undertaken by volunteers, and the letting OP know just adds to their workload.

Thank you for the welcome messages!

I agree with you entirely ref moderators (is this what they are called?). However please see it from my perspective. It may increase the workload but it takes under a minute. Manners go very far (I'm not implying they have none) and it makes a very "wet behind the ears" forum user feel pretty bad. I took it the wrong way maybe?

Thank you PeterS for that post.

As stated due to the number of misposted threads it is not possible to always inform a user however if you've posted a sale or wanted ad in a model specific forum and not in the 'sale & wanted' section then you wont get a message, since, since we regard it as polite for users to post their threads in the correct section.

To think that any moment now this thread will appear in the 'Site feedback' section rather than the 993 section.

Welcome

Don't be put off contributing because of a little housekeeping.

I thought moved threads left a moved link behind in the originating section?

Welcome, I was in exactly the same position as you a few months ago and have found lots of usefull, well informed advice and help from this forum.

I'm sure you will get the same over the coming weeks and months.

What everyone does like however, is pictures. So see if you can work out how to post a few of your P&J.
