Is it from a K-series Turbo built for the USA in August '76 to July '77?

If so , could it be 6870001? Chassis number 9307800001 or thereabouts?

....001 would make it the first of 727 units built according to a book I have.

The engine numbers for the USA except California for the following MY started at 6880001 or 6881001 for California.
:dont know:

hi thanks for checking that just had a look and yes the number is 6870001 so what gasket set would i need

My little book ("Porsche 911 Red Book 1965-1999", by the way) isn't that detailed!

I would have thought though that if you spoke to a Porsche parts specialist quoting the engine number and telling him what you need to do on the engine, he'd be able to list the gaskets you'd need. :dont know:

Didn't expect to, but in fact I've found what looks like a complete set of engine seals and gaskets for the 1977 USA version of the Turbo, listed under Part No 911 100 907 05. You need to have that confirmed by someone who really knows the engine though, to avoid tears at bedtime.

If you want to let me have an e-mail address by PM, I could send you 4 scanned pages from the PET list for your car, listing all the individual parts in the above-mentioned seal/gasket set.
I won't be able to send them until tomorrow though, as it's already time for the Sandman here. I assume you are in the US of A?
