Insurance renewal time. 996 in Leicester. £529 with Admiral. Fair enough.

But the excess is 'Compulsory' £400 + 'Voluntary' £250.

£650 seems high.

Is it?

Can't win..can we?? less the excess, more the premium would be.

Might be worth doing a bit more hunting eg- (Aviva/ Porsche/ Bridle)

I've renewed last week. Quote me happy. All sorts of things, but the essence of it is £350, and I've gone for £1600 XS. I've no intention of claiming, except theft or writeoff, so no point paying more.

However you have to take your own personal circumstances into account.

Pete, I took a similar approach with my motorbike - I figure if the repair is going to cost more than £1500 then I'll be too dead to worry about the excess... :dont know:

I'm with Admiral and have a £650 excess. I took the view that for anything under £1000 I wouldn't make a claim anyway and it saved me £60 on the premium.

What figure did Admiral quote for you just having a £400 excess?
