NotAgree....IMHO oval clears looks so much better on the C4.....in fact ovals just look better and follow the lines of the car.....the square jobbies just look cheap VW crap to me and look completely wrong for the curves of the 993 .....

Taking things easy, with just a few clips to undo/do up will sort this one.

Thanks to Ollster Thumb

GT , good idea too to buy it like that ..
I did similar , and held onto the original cover, so that all could be returned to original at some stage if needed.

You may not notice a difference in sound until you're well up there on the revs , it seems to me that it works best at WOT.

Nothing from the plumbers in that one. The water cooled/air cooled thing goes deeper than I thought.

Oh if only it were that simple....

For instance, do you know how many of those polystyrene pieces need to go into the air-intake when fitted?

Mmm...

This looks like a Mod I can do! 2 Questions though (before I get the hole saw out):

1, Why? Is it for induction noise or/and any performance gain.

2, With the original opening near the grill and cool air, Don't these holes (being further back in the engine bay) bring hotter air in?

I plan to hole-saw mine to a size I have blank grommets for, so it's reversable either way as many times as you want.

Induction noise to the cabin.

Performance issues:
1) the standard intake is hardly "CAI"
2) if I've lost one pony per year I am probably doing OK
3) it's a Varioram (see #2)
4) it's almost OEM (see Tequipment MotorSound airbox, below)
5) who cares? you're driving a classic car

Porsche charge one arm and one leg for this.

Yeah but when you are at about 4.5-5 upwards its a great noise. Very loud and mechanical worship

Keep one behind as a spare. Of course you have to add three litres of Porsche glue, N-rated naturally.
