Seems to be a fair bit of chat regarding replicas at the moment. I wonder what it drives like? Would actually love to have a test drive.....

Porsche 911 Turbo Replica

Awesome Porsche replica Finished in Porsche Guards red with full luxury burgundy leather interior. Ford 1.6 CVH engine, mated to a Volkswagen transaxle. The combination works very well and has a feel and sound to it like an original 911. In fact very few people know that 911 replicas exist! Finished in Porsche Guards red with full luxury burgundy leather interior. 16" cross spoke alloys with brand new tyres. JVC cd/stereo. 11,000 recorded miles with lots of old MOT certs. Last owner's Insurance was under £200! Original turbo bodied 911's are now making circa £30,000 so this car is exceptionally good value. Its even in the Historic Vehicle class so it gets free road tax! What more could you want!

£8,995

I'm guessing it's a Covin replica (see www.covin.co.uk). Apart from a few things not looking too Porsche-like, it's not a bad looker.

How is a 1.6 4 cylinder engine ever going to sound like a flat-6 turbo engine :wack:

At least it wont rust :thumb:

To be fair that looks good externally, and I think if I passed it in the street I wouldn't guess REPLICA.

But that engine?? Please............

I was very impressed when I first saw a Covin 911 replica about 20 years ago but when I read what they were based on I could never imagine them driving like anything other than a Ford Escort on fat tyres.

Looks good but I would question that it is burgundy leather interior, looks red to me.
I have an original 930 with burgundy leather interior, it is a much darker more maroon colour. The dashboard looks very different as well.
from the outside though it looks good, can't think that it sounds anything like the 3.3 litre flat six.

you have to blow those seats up yourself with a footpump :nooo:

Why buy a fake it fools no-one ?.

 Those seats remind me of the leather Chesterfields in the smoking room of my club :thumb:

With the melted holes where the cigars have burnt through and the port stains no doubt.
Probably large pieces of maturing Stilton still in the pleats?

Maybe it gets so hot they have had to insulate it!

Think you might be onto something! Must be all those handbrake turns

I had no idea these existed!

Thing is, 99.9% of the general public will assume its real.

But its driver will still know that he's a complete and utter plonker.

I wonder if the advertiser really believed it himself when he wrote:

I'm not so sure about that.
