Paying for a car you're having collected

Hi

I've found a 996 Turbo that i want to buy, i've had a PPI carried out on it by a company called Pro Porsche http://www.pro-porsche.co.uk/ and it came back with flying colours.

I've agreed a price and the cars been taken off the market, it's the other end of the country and i've found a car transport company that will pick it up for the same price as a train ticket and the petrol.

I'm now stuck on how to pay for it, it's from a dealer but more like a general dealer rather than a Specialist or main dealer.

I was thinking of transfering the funds into his account, would this be daft? If i was going up there, i'd get a bankers draft or get him to come to the bank with me and i'd take out the cash.

Whats the best way to pay for the car seeing i won't be there?

Thanks

...I would always arrive in person, check the car's paperwork etc etc, pay, then enjoy the drive home :thumb:

I was thinking i might have to bite the bullet and make the trip, probably the best course of action. 5 hours being stuck in a traffic jam on the M1 is going to be better than the alternative potential disaster

+1

I sold my previous 4S on ebay for 62k!
dude from scotland paid for an independent inspection, then 3 weeks went by before he transferred the funds into my account. I could have sold the car 3 times over in that time, and then legged it.

Pick it up in person - check the paperwork, drive it - then pay for it.

Looks like i'm going up Norf!

What lies ahead in the Northern Dealerships for the unsuspecting traveller from warmer UK climates.

I'd avoid have milk with the tea or coffee upon arrival.

Hey steady on you Southerners :pc: When you get north of Watford you are still in England and it is rather pleasant. :hand:

In fact there are more MUFC supporters down your end than 'up north' so what's all that about :dont know:

If Pro-Porsche have checked it the car will be 'al reet' as I take my car there for servicing - top class and no silly southern pricing. Richard and the team are great to deal with.

Personally I'd prefer to pick the car up but discuss payment on the day with the seller - they may not take a draft as they are too easy to fake so factor in a trip to the bank.

Its strange all these Cockney boys never seem to go to the games :?: just a rumour spread by City fans cause they cant fill Eastlands i feel.

+1 For Pro porsche, bet they loaded the PPI premium though when they heard the southern accents :floor: :floor: :floor: :floor: :floor:
