Hi There

Thanks for looking. I know what you mean lol. I can spend a bit more time looking now as my brother has just fitted the exhaust back on the car without both of those supports. They will have to go on once I get them.

All the best

Berni

Good grief ..

Hi Ballcock

That was just the sort of situation I was looking for apart from the throwing away bit. Just for anyone else reading this I would have paid £30 for those plus postage of course Smile

All the best

Berni

Hi Berni

Sorry - I was looking at ebay on my iphone when I saw it - so didn't register it was the wrong part. The link that madasasnake put on was indeed the item I was looking at...oops!

I'll pay better attention next time.

I know it's a 'Holy thread revival Batman' scenario but I felt I had to say thanks. I started (per Fabspeed thread) an exhaust muffler and tip replacement. I thought(wrongly) that I could take off and replace without removing bumper. Anyway, I got dug in and took the rear bumper and bits off. Surprisingly, bar one or two buggered bolts and nuts everything came off. I have ordered everything from the Pet Catalogue to replace all the nuts, bolts, nuts, washers and screws from the wheel lining etc to sand blasting the bumper supports, support and heat shield, they were also in good condition and no need to replace. I will then rust proof, prime and paint with high temp paint. The aluminium shields will be replaced. Then Gert's RSR's will go on with the Big Ovals to accompany my Cargraphic 100 Cell Cats. The area will be then cleaned and 3M sealed. Oh, and forgot to add that I decided to get the bumper and boot lid resprayed too. Nothing's ever THAT simple. If anyone is looking for pics or advice about this, PM me arms I'll email you pics etc.

Baz

Thanks for an excellent support thread guys, even though I'm sure your pics have made many a sane person require temporary use of a padded room! lol

I checked out this thread some time back and sort of put my head in the sand. Rolling Eyes

Mine has always been a bit (excessively with me) of a garage queen so I'd hope mine are just affected with surface rust. The rear PU was removed a few years back by Chartwells of Derby when respraying the PU so I hope (Hmmm I hear you all say) this was checked.

A bit short on cash at the moment with a new little one arriving in a couple of months so haven't got the cash to get this looked into at the moment but will surely have to get it checked out within the next year.

I have had mine since 2008 and have never driven it in the rain and has always been garaged overnight and stored during the winter; gees TBH I've only put 6.5K on it in 8 years of ownership Surprised so hopefully it shouldn't be too bad? Question

I'd be interested to know of any other garage queens that have had this issue looked into to see how they faired. I believe 'orangecurry' has a bit of a garage queen which was going to get the treatment? Would be interesting to see how it faired? Question
