930 rear suspension failure

Hi all

I came out this morning to find my rear offside suspension sitting on the tyre. Not being too mechanically minded, I wondered what I should be looking for when I jack it up. All ideas and suggestions most appreciated. I don't know if these photos help.

If any knowledgeable members are in the Chichester area and might have the time to look at it, I'd be very grateful. If it's an obvious garage job to you, I'll have it taken to a specialist (presumably I shouldn't drive it?) but I just wanted to see if there's anything obvious here.

Thanks
Stuart

Jack the car up check the shocks start from there.

Thanks, It is the shocks, I didnlt think it would be as simple as that (even though it's not a cheap repair). Still, anything renewed on a classic car adds value in the end right? Thanks again

How much did it set you back did you upgrade?.

Actually it's not the shocks now! It's worse. It's a torsion bar and it's advisable to replace both. GTOne and RSR Engineering have quoted me around 800 incl geometry but there are bound to be other items along the way and apparently it's usual to change the spring plate cover and bush at the same time so probably it's going to cost around 1K. The good thing is won't need doing again in my lifetime!

Cheers
Stuart

Can you DIY it to save some money. I know of a good Porsche TECH in Maidstone, Kent. He prices are fair, not OTT. He does the work on my car, which I cannot do sometimes.
